In order to make dairy farms more sustainable, scientific investigations were needed to establish necessary methodologies to separate solids from liquid in dairy effluent so that farmers can properly store fertilizing solids for application in the growing season while maximizing water reuse on farms. This study evaluated conventional and novel coagulation-flocculation agents and their practical applications to dairy effluent to promote nutrient recycling and confirmed their fertilizing value with a greenhouse study.
