Multi-level sensor fusion system for privacy aware people monitoring

thesis
posted on 2024-09-05, 23:29 authored by KAREEB HASAN
Camera-based people monitoring systems have become overwhelmingly more popular than systems using other sensors, owing to their ease of setup and operation. However, these systems raise significant privacy concerns. This thesis develops a privacy-focused people monitoring system that can provide valuable insights to meet the needs of various industries without compromising individual privacy. Such a system can be used in areas like train stations to observe commuter patterns for optimising train timetables, and in businesses to analyse customer visit patterns.
