In order to distinguish essays and pre-prints from academic theses, we have a separate category. These are often much longer text based documents than a paper.
X-ray bursts are the most common nuclear explosions in the universe, and occur on the surface of neutron stars. This thesis develops new methods of modelling these bursts using computer simulations, which can be used to improve our understanding of neutron stars and extremely dense matter.
