The rise of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) within existing power distribution networks has created new challenges and opportunities for both incumbent and emerging energy market entities. One such opportunity involves localised energy trading between residential energy users, enabled by DER. My research achieves this using a novel transactive energy market that scales the energy price for each customer such that distribution loss costs are fairly allocated and optimal DER configurations are incentivised. This is achieved by combining market and technical models to facilitate the optimal operation of DER that maximises the aggregate utility of all participants.
