Spinal cord injury (SCI) patients undergo intensive inpatient treatment for multiple months, and suffer from a variety of secondary complications. The electronic health records (EHR) of the patients reflect this complexity. Our research work is based on retrospective analyses of their EHR data, and seeks to answer four clinically relevant questions: First, how can we evaluate and improve the readiness of their EHR for modelling tasks? Second, are there identifiable, clinically relevant sub groups of patients in the cohort? Third, are there new normal values for physiological variables? Finally, we attempt modelling for the prediction of infections in the cohort.
