Model-based and Trend Analysis for Haemodialysis Patients

thesis
posted on 2021-02-22, 01:28 authored by SEE LOONG LI
In 2015, it was estimated that 1.2 million people died from renal failure, which is an increase of 32% since 2005. This research aims to provide an understanding on renal failure and renal replacement therapy, specifically on haemodialysis. Haemodialysis comes with consequences as it cannot fully replace the function of healthy kidneys. Besides, there is a lack of research conducted in Malaysia to investigate into the trends of deceased haemodialysis patients, which motivates the research to investigate into this. This research also wishes to explore the feasibility of mathematical models in describing kidney functions for the improvement of haemodialysis treatment.
