In order to reduce the high CO2 emission in the cement industry, a recently developed green cement - limestone calcined clay cement (LC3) is drawing great attention. However, due to the limited research, the reason why LC3 has superior mechanical properties and durability was not well explored. This research Master's study aims to explain the research gaps mentioned above by exploring the microstructure of LC3 with an image-based microstructure characterization technique and artificial intelligence (AI).
