Metal-Organic Framework-based Sub-nanochannels for Selective Ion Transport

thesis
posted on 2020-08-12, 23:18 authored by JUN LU
This thesis investigates synthetic nanoporous membranes to understand material structure-performance relations and design membranes with desirable properties for ion separations. It develops new synthesis strategies for preparation and functionalization of membranes by combining metal organic framework (MOF) materials with polymers. The membranes show exceptional metal ion separation properties, which are comparable to biological cell membranes. The thesis advances membrane science and separation technologies for mining and other applications.
