If gender equality is the goal, we must engage men and boys, as partners, participants and beneficiaries of change. This thesis contributes to the literature and practice, by triangulating data from a systematic review of the literature, interviews with facilitators, and a qualitative survey of program participants. By exploring what works, this study confirms the importance of program design and delivery, and identifies key strategies to engage men and boys to elaborate on the impacts of gendered norms. The findings provide theoretical insights and practical strategies to strengthen current programs and inform development and investment in future programs.
