Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) affects one billion people globally and has significant health consequences. Up to 50% of individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or insomnia also experience OSA, but the reasons for this overlap remain unclear. This thesis explores the mechanisms underlying OSA in these populations. The findings from this thesis provide insights that could lead to novel, personalised treatment strategies for these vulnerable groups.
