thesis
posted on 2020-06-13, 03:23 authored by GODFREY MING YAN KEUNG
The aim of this research is to synthesise two mechanical designs of walking assistive devices that can reduce the joint loading of the knee. One of them is a passive adjustable body weight support device that can provide a prescribed percentage off loading to the user consistently without any power requirements. Another one is a wearable robotic knee brace that can provide assistance to the knee during level walking, sitting and walking downstairs with very little power consumption.
