Management of mechanical ventilation treatment can be challenging due to patient-specific conditions and lack of monitoring system. This thesis develops a network system that enables automated, continuous and real-time data acquisition of ventilator waveform data. The data acquired is stored and processed into lung respiratory mechanics, enabling in-depth analysis of patient lung conditions. This information can potentially aid clinicians to evaluate patient’s condition during mechanical ventilation treatment, thus allowing better decision making and care.
