MODELLING AND ANALYZE OF PULVERIZED COAL IN VARIOUS PIPELINES

thesis
posted on 2018-05-01, 01:56 authored by ZHEN MIAO
Pneumatic conveying of pulverized coal (PC) is a significant part of the modern industries. The behavior of the gas-pulverized coal flow (gas-PC flow) through various pipelines is complicated and affected by flow fluctuation and large pressure drop. This thesis provides a computational study to understand the flow regimes and its transition of gas-PC flow in different pipelines. Its aim is to identify the mechanisms leading to the formation and transition of flow regimes in different conveying systems and on this basis, develop methods to understand the flow regimes and reduce the flow fluctuation. This is important for optimal operation and design of transportation system.
