Lithium-ion-conducting membrane for selective lithium extraction

thesis
posted on 2022-12-20, 00:08 authored by Umma Habiba
This thesis establishes a simple method called sol-gel dip coating for the fabrication of lithium selective ceramic thin membranes supported on a porous substrate. It identifies ways for making the lithium selective membranes using the knowledge from Lithium-ion conducting battery materials and separates lithium from other metal ions using electric potential. It introduces a new kind of membrane material for lithium extraction which may be very useful for lithium mining and recycling.
