As one of most common ailments of the ocular posterior segment diseases, retinal damage might affect the vision of patients and cause irreversible blindness. Current therapies for retina-related diseases usually require ongoing intraocular drug injections that may lead to blinding eye injury and infection. Safer and less invasive therapies are therefore desired. The research of this thesis was focused on the design, optimization and assessment of Novel Ocular Drug Delivery Systems relies on the properties of phytantriol based Cubosomes.
