Lignin Catalytic Depolymerisation and the Utilisation of Biomass

Methods have been developed to utilize lignin, which is one of the wood tissue, for the generation of fine chemicals. Catalytic methods including metal-complex catalytic system, ionic liquid catalytic system, and photocatalytic systems have been developed. The obtained products can be used for the production of biopolymers and pharmaceutical compounds.
