Kinematic Driven FEM for Lumbar Spine Disc Degeneration

thesis
posted on 2022-03-07, 16:12 authored by KOSALISHKWARAN GANESON
Degenerative Disc Disease is a complicated condition affecting the lumbar region due to difficulties in identification of the condition at early stages. This thesis develops a robust and novel predictive disc degeneration analysis model to provide greater knowledge on disc degeneration and corresponding effects on stresses in the lumbar spine. Artificial intelligence is utilized for accurate prediction of stresses at specific levels of degeneration. The results from this work may benefit clinicians in providing quick and timely diagnosis and the corresponding remedy based on the severity of the condition, thus preventing further damage to a patient’s spine.
