Joint design of precoder and estimator for networked state estimation

There is an increasing trend towards network control systems in applications such as industrial automation. However, incorporating wireless networks for control systems proves to be challenging, as control system stability and performance are affected by channel artifices. Redundant precoder design aims to optimize the signal reconstruction at the receiver when the Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) channels are subject to channel artifices such as noise and fading. This thesis presents joint MIMO precoder implementation and remote state estimator design schemes when a plant and the estimator are connected via and erasure channel and a additive noise channel.
