thesis
posted on 2020-09-21, 07:24authored byBONNIE RACHEL REID
This thesis expands the meaning of the term “trans*,” which is usually used to describe categories of gender, to consider how this term might be redefined through poetry and used to critique the ways in which broader categories of “body” “personhood” and “animacy” are socially recognised and organised. It is comprised of Part I, Hydro, Electric, Dam., a book-length sequence of poetry exploring trans* experience, family life, history, geography and climate, and Part II, a critical study of trans* poetry and poetics.
