Infection and inflammation of the male reproductive tract have been estimated to be responsible for ~15% of all cases of infertility. Using a mouse model of human chronic testicular inflammation, we investigated the involvement of activin A, a cytokine, which is a potential therapeutic target, in the development and severity of the disease.
