Investigation Of Thermo-Kinetic Characteristics of Pyrolysis Products From Oil Palm Biomass and Pyrolysis Modeling using Hybrid Artificial Intelligence

In this project, we have developed artificial intelligence (AI) models to predict the mass change of oil palm biomass with temperature, product quantity and quality. The conventional kinetic models are difficult to model and may not represent the actual biomass processing. Therefore, we trained and tested the AI to determine the processing behavior of biomass and product composition. At first, we applied AI to a thermogravimetric machine and later to the lab-scale processing system. The study also highlights the development of hybrid (combining two or more) AI models and their application to predict product quantity and quality.
