Investigating the therapeutic targeting of myofibroblast-inflammasome activity to treat cardiac fibrosis

This thesis examines the involvement of the myofibroblast NLRP3 inflammasome in the context of cardiovascular fibrosis as well as how this inflammasome can be therapeutically targeted in primary human cardiac myofibroblasts (HCMFs) in vitro and a mouse model of cardiomyopathy in vivo.
