Investigating the Utility of Lipid-Based Formulations for Ionic Liquid Drug Delivery

The composition of the lipid formulation plays a key role in the bioavailability of the alternate salt form of the drug. Additionally, a larger, bulkier counter-ion that is paired with a drug will increase drug loading in lipid formulations. These alternate salt forms of drugs have higher drug loading in lipid formulations than the traditional salt forms and provide a potential means to increase the dose for some medications.
