Ian’s PhD research focused on the use of a novel enzyme that is used to aid in the delivery antibodies and nanoparticles into the skin. His work investigated several mechanisms involved in the absorption of these therapeutics into both the blood and lymphatic systems, with a specific focus on how much directly entered the lymph when administered with the enzyme. The findings from Ian’s research aid in the further development of strategies for targeting antibodies and nanoparticles to the lymphatic system to better treat diseases that reside there.
