Interprofessional learning programs using simulation in obsetrics and gynaecology

Interprofessional team members need to collaborate and work together to provide safe and high quality healthcare. Interprofessional teaching programs attempt to close the gap between healthcare teams having varying knowledge, clinical practices, problems with communication and teamwork. The word, “simulate”, means to imitate or enact. In the context of healthcare, simulation is a safe educational modality to teach clinical knowledge, facilitate acquisition of skills and/or develop a change in behaviour. In my thesis, I have used simulation to improve interprofessional learning to address the learning of healthcare staff from different disciplines and facilitate their working together for better patient outcome.
