Folded rock strata are common on the Earth's crust. Understanding their geometry below the surface is critical for academic research, resource exploration, and extraction. However, characterising their geometry below the surface is challenging, time-consuming, and always involves uncertainty. This study introduces approaches based on structural modelling techniques and field mapping that allow geologists to efficiently characterise the geometry of folded rock strata while increasing confidence in their understanding of the studied fold geometry. This study is the first step towards building a geological system that assists geologists in their interpretation tasks.
