This qualitative study used Fullan’s (2015) concepts of initiation of innovation and implementation to explore the primary science textbook change and its implementation by teachers in Bangladesh. Document analysis showed the inclusion of inquiry process skills as the textbook change. Findings also revealed Textbook Professionals’ values and expertise that guided their design decisions for the textbooks. Lastly, the findings indicated the implementation of the textbook change was limited and adversely affected by teachers’ stage of career and their work context and conditions.
