This thesis examines the knowledge gaps relating to the design of an evidence-based, consumer-informed lifestyle program for women with PCOS to be implemented across community or clinical settings. Research assesses current nutrition and physical activity habits of women with PCOS as well as their needs to best manage the condition through lifestyle. This information is coupled with intervention-design theory to best inform a PCOS lifestyle program. Use of research within this thesis will aid health care professionals and interventionists provide optimal, evidence-based, patient-centred PCOS care, in turn reduce the risk of PCOS-associated disease.
