Influence of 2D Layered Nanomaterials on the Piezoelectric Properties of Polymer Based Nanocomposites
The PhD thesis has dealt with the piezoelectric behaviour of 2D nanomaterials based PVDF nanocomposites. Unmodified and modified 2D nanomaterials (graphene oxide, expanded graphite and hexagonal boron nitride) were incorporated in PVDF matrix and their role in enhancing the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of PVDF has been explored. A comprehensive investigation on the influence of processing techniques on the morphology, structure and piezoelectric properties of PVDF based nanocomposites has been carried out. Furthermore, UHMWPE based nanocomposites have been studied for the first time for their ferroelectric and piezoelectric behaviour. A systematic interrelation has been successfully developed between processing, structure and property.
