thesis
posted on 2022-12-01, 23:57 authored by Ahmad Junaidi
Pre-service teachers (PSTs) are exposed to many scientific concepts, including the theories of teaching, in their teacher education process. This study examines the process of the PSTs’ adoption of two concepts, Scientific Approach and Text-teaching concepts, in Indonesian context, as well as identifying the factors that influence the degree of their use of two concepts when doing their teaching practicum. Using Vygotskian sociocultural lenses, this study demonstrates the differing complexity and the dynamic process of the adoption which includes the rejection and adoption of the concepts, influenced by individual characteristics and their cultural-historical context.
