This thesis presents a search for the glass half-full or the study of the strengths of a marginalised remote, rural government school in northern India. This study asked: could it be possible that rural government schools in India can teach us more about inclusive education than we already know? Thus, the purpose of the study was to understand how inclusive education is understood and practiced in the rural school context by analysing India's national education policy and by centring the perspectives and experiences of students, parents, and teachers.
