Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a major public health concern with multi-systemic complications. This thesis addresses research priorities and advances knowledge to help improve health outcomes in women with PCOS. It includes a series of research in PCOS including a review on the management of non-reproductive PCOS outcomes, examination of the alignment of community women’s lifestyle to the recent international PCOS guideline recommendations, exploration of the association of mental health conditions with PCOS and a longitudinal study of weight gain in adolescents using different PCOS diagnostic criteria. Lastly, the Monash Health PCOS service was evaluated from the women’s perspective to help improve healthcare delivery to women with PCOS.
