Improvements in how newborns are supported through the first few minutes of life are crucial for reducing complications at birth. This thesis evaluates novel strategies for optimising the supply of oxygen and blood to the infant through resuscitation with the umbilical cord intact, targeted oxygen therapy, and the use of lung ultrasound.
