Offering the potential of a cure for patients with haematological cancers, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is an intensive and debilitating treatment that is often distressing and detrimental for patient’s physical, social, functional and emotional quality of life. Whilst a range of psychological interventions have been trialled in oncology treatment settings to support patients, there is limited research assessing their utility for HSCT patients. As such, this thesis aimed to investigate whether psychological interventions tailored to the needs and capacity of patients at different phases of the transplant process improves patient coping, psychological distress and QoL?
