This experiment is carried out to identify the sex-determining genes in Tor tambroides. The genes responsible for the sex-determination were isolated, and those genes' expression was measured at different ages. Tor tambroides have very little research material to date, and they are also an endangered species. In this study, two genes were significantly higher in one sex. the dmrt1 gene was significantly higher in males, while the foxl2 gene was significantly higher in females. This experiment serves as a preliminary study to help with the cultivation of Tor tambroides.
