Weakness and frailty are serious consequences of muscle wasting that is reported in 80% of cancer patients. Sadly, 1 in 3 cancer sufferers die due to complications of muscle wasting. No therapies exist to address this health issue. This PhD thesis focuses on understanding the biological processes that take place in muscle cells affected by cancer. Findings presented here have significant implications for the management of patients in the clinic and the development of therapies for cancer associated muscle wasting.
