This research project seeks to provide an overview of the culturable gut mycobiota composition of non-hospitalised individuals in the Segamat community (Johor, Malaysia) while assessing possible risk factors that could contribute to fungal prevalence. To the best of our knowledge, this research project is the first culturable gut mycobiome project assessing the variations between fungal occurrence, density, diversity and antifungal resistance among participants of different ethnic groups within the same community.
