IDENTIFICATION OF EARLY POTENTIAL BIOMARKER FOR EARLY DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY
thesis
posted on 2019-01-16, 05:43 authored by FARRAH SHAFEERA IBRAHIMDiabetic Nephropathy (DN) is a major diabetic complication that leads to end-stage renal disease. This thesis examines early biomarkers for DN using the proteomic approach in normal, pre-diabetes, early-diabetes, and established-diabetes group. It identifies the early potential biomarker at the pre-diabetes stage which increases by 4.5-fold within the 12-month period, while the current marker (ACR) did not display any changes. Accordingly, it could be part of a biomarker panel aimed to identify people considered as high-risk of developing DN.
