Host Community Perceptions of Socio-Cultural and Economic Impacts of Refugees: The Case of Adjumani District, Uganda

thesis
posted on 2022-02-16, 23:16 authored by JOSEPH MUSASIZI
Uganda hosts the largest number of refugees in African, and the third largest globally. While the plight of refugees and their integration have been extensively studied, the host communities’ perspectives and experiences of living with refugees have received only a limited attention. The research contributes to this area by investigating the socio-cultural and economic impacts of refugees on the host communities of Uganda. The findings of the study not only advance empirical and theoretical understandings but also provides the knowledge base for developing sound policies and programmes that will facilitate the peaceful coexistence of refugees and hosts in Uganda.
