With the development of the global industrialization, more and more organic pollutants have entered water body and accumulated, which poses a threat to both the environment and human health. Persulfate-based advanced oxidation processes (PS-AOPs), have attracted increasing attention due to their strong oxidizing ability and adaptability towards wastewater treatment. For the activation of persulfate, heterogeneous transition metal-based materials have been extensively studied. However, low catalytic performance generated by the aggregation of the bulk materials restricted the application of these materials. In this thesis, three types of high-performance transition metal-based materials were designed and applied in PS-AOPs for wastewater treatment.
