Heat Transfer Enhancement via Droplets on Heated Surfaces Coated with Two-dimensional Materials

thesis
posted on 2021-05-29, 14:38 authored by EDMUND HUA HANG LIM
The dynamic interaction of droplet with solid surfaces is a fundamental problem and essential technology for the development of spray cooling systems. In this work, the focus is on the study of the dynamic interactions of a droplet on the inclined surfaces above Leidenfrost point; the permeation and evaporation characteristics of the water and ethanol droplets; and droplet impinging on the vibrated surfaces. All these are to provide cooling solutions together with the graphene-coated surfaces. In addition, a small part of the work is on the streaming flow within the droplet atop vibrating curved transducers for possible enhancement of convection heat transfer.
