Grid Integration of Renewable Energy Sources into Weak Grids

thesis
posted on 2022-07-08, 04:08 authored by Milad Zarif Mansour

This dissertation investigates the grid integration of converter-based renewable energy sources (RESs) into weak grids. For this purpose, a grid-following inverter (GFLI) is chosen as the RES, and its stability is analyzed. Additionally, the thesis proposes a method for the stability enhancement of the GFLI. Furthermore, a new control strategy for the inverter is proposed and investigated to address the issue inherently. Also, this approach's stability is investigated thoroughly, and its superiority against conventional GFLIs is highlighted.
