Green Oxidation of Lignocellulose to Obtain Nanocellulose and Its Applications

thesis
posted on 2022-10-04, 05:31 authored by POORNIMA VIJAY
Valorisation of biomass using sustainable reagents was the main aim of this research. Nanocellulose is the nanometer-sized cellulose with extensive use in daily life, such as in cosmetics, biomedical applications and packing materials. However, industries utilise and emit hazardous acids, bases, and halogenated compounds in the multiple-step process to obtain nanocellulose from biomass. My research has given a new method to produce nanocellulose in a one-step process using mild materials that leave minimum waste to the environment.
