Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone Secretion Is Regulated by Gut Peptides at the Level of the Median Eminence

thesis

This thesis aimed to investigate the link between gut peptides and reproduction. Briefly, GnRH neurons in the hypothalamus are the master controller of the reproduction system. These neurons are regulated by many factors such as sex steroids, stress, and metabolic factors. Although the effect of metabolic factors on the reproduction is well known, the exact mechanism is not clearly defined. This study advances the current knowledge of gut-to-brain signaling and a means of communication between the metabolic to reproductive systems.
