The thesis examined gait function in symptomatic Huntington’s disease (symp-HD) people, comparing it with controls, across three specific dual-task study areas. Each study included two ecologically-valid experiments, totalling six experiments, designed to simulate real-world situations encountered during every day walking. Sixteen symp-HD participants and sixteen age and sex matched healthy controls were recruited for this study. Spatiotemporal gait assessments were undertaken using the GAITRite system. This thesis found Symp-HD required to adjusting and modifying their spatiotemporal gait variables when it is need to walk under cognitively demanding dual-task situations.
