This thesis focuses on the potential of microanalysis in elucidating crustal-scale processes in two Brazilian Precambrian provinces (Paleoproterozoic Rio Apa Terrane and the Neoproterozoic-Cambrian Ribeira Belt). In summary, this thesis sheds light on the potential and necessity of multi-method microanalysis in conjunction with structural, petrological and geochemical information to resolve tectonic problems in Precambrian provinces.
