Factors of Marital Satisfaction among Malaysian Christians: Investigating Religiosity, Family-of-Origin and Marital Interactions

thesis

This thesis explores the marital satisfaction of Malaysian Christians and its contributing factors. Research in this area with a focus on married Malaysian Christians is limited. Therefore, this study provides a deeper understanding of Malaysian Christian marital satisfaction through the use of assessment scales and open-ended questions. The results suggest that religious beliefs, family impact and interactions within marriage contribute to how Malaysian Christians experience marital satisfaction and develop views, values and attitudes within marriage. The outcomes bring awareness and inspiration to married Malaysian Christians, guide the planning of Church-based programmes and provide insights to marriage counsellors and family therapists.
