Fabrication of Oral Nano-Insulin Formulation for Regulating Blood Glucose Level

thesis

Oral delivery is considered as most preferred and yet most challenging mode of drug administration. Especially a fragile and sensitive peptide like insulin shows extremely low bioavailability through Gastro-Intestinal route. To address this problem, we have designed a novel drug delivery system (DDS) using precipitation-induced salt particles. The DDS can load insulin molecule and transport it through GIT route. Novel Ba salt particle loaded insulin was effective in reducing blood glucose level in diabetic rat model. the thesis summarizes the findings.
