The global demand for organ or tissue replacement, repair, and regeneration for patients suffering from organ dysfunction or failure has led to the advancement of tissue engineering research. In tissue engineering, a scaffold is crucial for new tissue development. This thesis reports the preparation of injectable hydrogels made from derivatives of natural polymers such as cellulose and chitosan. The hydrogels are reinforced by graphene oxide nanosheets and electrospun cellulose acetate butyrate/polyethylene glycol nanofibers. These composite materials exhibit superior mechanical strength, showing their potential as the scaffolds for soft tissue engineering.
