The thesis investigates professional, personal, and economic survivals of Paris-based musicians during and after revolutions in France that generated more than fifteen regime changes from 1789 to 1871. It evaluates the fates and strategies adopted to overcome volatile social, religious, political, and economic upheavals during and after revolutions under new regimes. The research method utilizes a theoretical model specifically constructed for the thesis derived from Max Weber’s theories of ideal-types of authorities, states, institutions, stratification, status-groups, status, and social action expounded in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft (Economy and Society).
